Living in fear

I live with fear

Everyday

Every time I leave the house

Every ounce of me fills with worry

Worry when I will be harassed

Harassed by my male counterparts

Counting the seconds, minutes, and hours until I’m back home

Homing in, every white and brown man that comes close paralyzes me

Meet me in the morning, the afternoon, or the evening I am still afraid

Afraid you will harm me, rape me, act out your fear of me

I live with fear

Everyday
