House of The Insane Sisters-A great Suspense/Mystery novel

House of the Insane SistersHouse of the Insane Sisters by Katrina April Saba
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

My eyes are still bugged out. House of The Insane Sisters is a great Suspense/Mystery genre novel. The story follows Dylan Somer who works for Mystic Travels Inc, a private travel blog that focuses on the strange and mysterious. He goes in search of another strange and mysterious location to blog about and entice visitors to bid on the place’s location which is how the company earns their profits. Dylan learns about the House of the insane sisters and goes to explore all that is to know about the house. On his journey he goes down a road that leads him to the Cemetery of No Dead then he is pointed to a town called the town of No Speak, and if that wasn’t enough for him to turn back around he has to go through a forest called the Forest of No Return. SERIOUSLY DYLAN? RUN! I knew right away this character couldn’t be Black. LOL We don’t go for the foolishness and warning signs throughout the whole book.

“Do not open your door after midnight….” “They would know. And they would haunt.”

I will say upfront I am a scaredy cat so I’m not too sure how good of a judge I am but this is a great suspense/scary book. But the good kind that hooks you in and forces you to keep reading late into the night just to have your questions answered. I didn’t like or dislike the main character Dylan but I felt a connection with his persistent need for answers as I too felt insane with my need to know.

“We have a different definition of how it is to sin.”

If you think you know what’s going to happen, you don’t. If you think you know the answers, you don’t. You will find yourself lost and haunted just as Dylan, invested in the story, a story you don’t even know, yet you’re invested. It’ll feel like a good scratch reliving your itch until you realized you’ve cut yourself open and there’s blood everywhere leaving you with a horrifying satisfaction.

This will be a great addition to anyone’s bookshelf and to a book clubs monthly read. I look forward to reading more by Katrina April Saba.
