Asha Anderson: The DragonAsha Anderson: The Dragon by Dustin Archibald
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Dragon is a YA Sci-Fi novel that explores loss and heroism. Asha Anderson recently lost her mother leaving her with unresolved trauma as her father moves them to a new home and her to a new school. With her two new friends Lilly and Mick, Asha is able to find courage amongst bullies and The Dragon. Asha finds that she has strength beyond understanding which scares her but also proves very useful as her friends and the city are in danger from the cult like gang The Dragon. If you enjoy Sci-Fi novels with advance technology, humor, self-empowerment, drama, and twist and turns this is the book for you.

I loved this book! The characters were relatable and entertaining. In the beginning I loved Lilly Donavon’s character but soon found myself enjoying the main character Asha Anderson. The author Dustin Archibald did a fantastic job at making Asha a realistic teenager who has to go through struggles and growth before finding some foundation of who she is(meant to be). She is an unsaid superhero and I love that about the book. Asha’s journey isn’t easy or unrealistic. I am looking forward to reading more about Asha and her friends and seeing if she will see herself as a hero and put on her “cape”.
